House Selenis
House Selenis is the ruling family of the eleonian lordship of Selenia. Their ancestral seat is located on the shore of the Silver Sea in the city of the same name. Despite their lordship being known mostly for its trade and economical power, House Selenis is mainly known for its military strength. Particularly the navy is famous as a strong, well-trained unit.
Nowadays, the eleonian navy is essentially the same as the selenian navy. Candidates for the navy are usually sent to Selenia for training after receiving general military training wherever they come from. House Selenis is therefore responsible for maintaining and training the navy.
The Eleonian Crown has changed houses many times throughout the kingdom's history. This usually happened with a military approach. The crown has been in each house's possession at least once, though House Selenis holds the record for winning (and losing) it most often. They are also known as the house with the shortest reign in eleonian history, which only lasted a week, the time it took the forces of Angeleor to march from Angeleor to Selenia and take back the crown.
Aside from Matheor, all capital city's of Eleonis can be reached by water. House Selenis usually won the crown by sailing to the current holder's doorstep, but often lost it soon after to another house attacking on land, where the selenian forces are less effective. Still, one would rather have House Selenis on one's side than the opposing one.
The current Lord of Selenia, Ealdir Selenis, is known to only talk when its necessary, but when he does talk, it carries a lot of weight. He is not one to play with words or do much negotiation. Still, he is considered a good and just leader who listens to his advisors and his subjects before making his decisions.
