The Old Manse, Finale

24 Marpenoth, The Year of Twelve Warnings (1494 DR)   Neverwinter Wood, The Sword Coast     Turnoroth Brimsdall, his giant badger sidekick, Wink, and Sarros Basha have defeated the anchorites of Talos, evil half-orc worshippers of the evil god of storms, and their minions. After, they decided to spend the rest of the day at the manse while considering where they should go next.     Brimsdall, after climbing out of a window and avoiding poisonous ivy growing on the manse's outer walls, joined in the fight against the half-orc anchorite of Talos, the evil god of storms.   Once outside, he saw Wink surrounded by twig blights, wild boars he saw earlier gorging themselves in the pumpkin patches, and two more half-orcs resembling the worshipper of Talos who fled the battle inside the house. Wink tried to hold his own, despite being surrounded. The giant badger clawed and bit at those surrounding him, but he was also getting stabbed and gorged. Despite the odds, Wink was not going to surrender to his attackers. He would die fighting.   Meanwhile, Sarros made his way outside through the manse's main entrance to join the fight only to be forced back inside when two of the boars attacked him. He tried to barricade himself inside the entrance hall, but a boar charged at the door, splintering it.   Brimsdall, seeing his sidekick facing overwhelming odds, ran to Wink's side. He then cast Thunder Step. As he and Wink teleported away, a thunderous boom resounded outward from where he stood moments before. The clap of thunder blasted eardrums while blasting twig blights to pieces. A boar was also killed. Two of the three half-orcs, including the one who fled from the house, were killed instantly by Brimsdall's powerful spell.   Only one half-orc, who was far enough away from the spell's effect survived the devastating spell. Realizing the others had been killed, he turned and ran as fast as he could into the forest.   Inside the entrance hall, Wink savagely attacked the boar that broke through the door. Within seconds, the boar was dead. A second boar already wounded by an Ice Knife spell Sarros had cast earlier, stood defiant just outside the broken doorway. The druid raised his bow and felled the boar with a well-placed shot to its heart.   Sarros and Brimsdall considered chasing after the half-orc who got away but changed their minds. They were wounded and exhausted from the battle. They would need to ensure the house was empty, then rest before leaving.   Back in the inner courtyard, both Brimsdall and Sarros used all available fire spells to burn the tree growing in the well. Despite not being certain if the tree was in fact a Gulthias Tree, he wasn't taking any chances. He made a mental note to tell the druid order about his discovery.   After making sure the house was secured, the three tired adventurers decided to spend the rest of the day in the upper level of the secret library they found.   As they began to rest and discuss their next plan, Brimsdall took out the map he found earlier. The leather map depicted the area of Neverwinter Wood they were at. A crudely drawn house indicated the old manse's location. A larger house with scribbles written in what he deduced was orcish, seemed to indicate the location of Falcon's hunting lodge about 10 miles to the east. Another location, indicated by stones drawn to form a circle, marked it as being also 10 miles to the north of the old manse.   They considered what to do after resting as a steady rain began to fall outside.
