Gorre

Often considered to be the most powerful kingdom in Caledonia. Gorre is a wild rugged land, with vast swaths of areas being completely deserted. The somber uplands of Gorre are host to lonely outposts of mankind, far on the fringes of civilization.
The people here never surrendered to the Romans, and its shadowed vales are homes for many strange customs and creatures. Gorians are a stubborn, conservative lot who cling to their old ways. Many people still live in the old uncouth tribal manner. As well as being old-fashioned (some knights from Logres would say uncivilized), the people of Gorre are renowned for being hardy and warlike, a legacy from their not so distant past as raiders across Hadrian's Wall.    They claim descent from several tribes. The Selgovae of the central uplands, the Gadeni of the northern mountains and the Novantae of Coastal Galloway. All of them are now united into a single kingdom, due to the efforts of their King, a uniting figure that made them understand how to stand together in the face of both raiding Irish and Picts. Yes, Cynfarch the Dismal was a strong force, rivaled only by the fierce Cunneda, and his son that followed, Urien, proved to be just as great a warrior.   Because of the harsh landscape, Feudalism has been slow to spread here. Southwest Gorre, the area known as Galloway, is the best place to visit. It is most civilized, with numerous castles, and is nearly as good as Logres. Also in Galloway is the famous Candida Casa monastery with the tomb of St. Ninian, a popular place of pilgrimage for Christian knights.

Territories

  • Galloway: The western lowlands, more populated that most of Gorre and the area where most of it's larger settlements can be found.
  • Selkirk: The eastern heights near the border of Garloth and the Cheviot Hills, almost completely covered by the Etterick Forest, a wild, dense woodland, populated with both people as well as Giants. Selkirk itself is a small town, famed for it's shoemakers.
  • Coila: The northern hillscape with fertile lands, bordering the Kingdom of Strangorre. Most people live in the River Doon or the River Ayr valleys, with the feudal lords living on an island in Loch Doon. It is seperated from Strangorre by the Whitlee Forest. It is also home to the most important seaport in Gorre, Ayr, from where most of the trade to and from the Uplands goes through.
  • Nithsdale and Annansdale: Two dales, forming some of the southernmost border before entering the great Eskdalemuir Forest that cradles the border between Gorre and Hadrian's Wall. They're seperated by the ancient forest of Ae, where countless warriors have fallen over the years, leaving it haunted.
  • Clydesdale: The uppermost parts of this dale is a part of Gorre, though it has been hotly contested between the Goroddin of Lothian and the Selvogae of Gorre over the years. It was in this region that the Picts and the Caledonians of King Albanus had their first battle of thousands, leaving behind many, many bones to wash up from the River Clyde. Further more, this dale is known for it's strong-blooded horses that seems to have giants blood in them.
  • The Pentland Hills: Forming the border between Lothian, Gorre and Garloth, these hills was once Votadini heartland, but is now contested between all three nations, who are fortunately allied currently.

Military

  • Gorre can field in the vicinity of 800 soldiers, 300 of these are as counted for knights.

Religion

  • Gorians are a fiercely Pagan people, and also tend to blindly trust the people who speaks with the Otherworld, meaning all witches and druids
