Mapvember 2021

1. A bridge that connects two important places

There is probably something architecturally significant about the bridge, given how important it is for travel, but for now I'm content to leave this as is.

2. A throne room, palace, or seat of power

This was an article I really should have developed prior to NaNoWriMo this year. It will need further updating before I return to that project. Including a map. To help with the whole infiltrating the palace and assassinating the queen situation.

3. A tradition that takes place behind a screen

I've been wanting to develop specialized applications for Leland's magic system, so I'm glad to have this prompt. Only problem is I keep creating applications for Power of Light and nothing else.

4. A cupola or dome-roofed building

The Courthouse of Deamei has a central domed roof and eight wings branching off, one for the individual court of each of the eight provinces. This will be included in an article about the Deamei justice system during Worldember.

5. A building known for its stained-glass art

Giving myself a little head start on Worldember with this one. Don't have an exact location for the workshop, but Reisouth is an area I want to expand come December.

9. A military base defended by canon

10. A famous library

Gason Glassworks
Building / Landmark | Nov 24, 2021

15. A royal or municipal garden or arboretum

I feel like I made the snap decision to make Banreah a bloody place at the end of the queendom and now everything I write about it has to do with its bloody past. At least I have a place that Melia probably enjoyed going and that Justyne will probably end up going to for a school trip.

16. A communal hall of gathering and lively conversation

And here we have the location where Breydon performs his mandatory community service. To be fair, he enjoys kids and loves tutoring them in Flora so he would do it even if it wasn't court ordered.

17. A military mess or organization's cafeteria

18. A cemetery or mausoleum where coffins are buried

Technically ashes are buried here, not coffins, but it's a cemetery so. . .

19. A hospital or other place of medicine

East Elver was originally just map filler, but now that I've decided that Ellie/Marelena at the very least works in East Elver, it's taken on a bit more of a personality. Needs further development.

25. A machine or mechanism important to daily life

26. A plant species which grows seeds in a pod

As a bonus to your first bonus map, i would consider a Vineyard a workshop that creates an important common item. Wine can be important and common. And if you want the train lines can fit 25. Your almost there. Keep up the good work.

Check out some of my summer camp articles, like the dangerous flying jackalope or dragon wasps. Or, for something more light-hearted, there is the whimsical language Gobbledygook and Jaden's interesting job as a guano polisher.
