Fogman

Biology

Heavy rain drums wildly on the roof. "When will father be back?", asks a shrilly, young voice. "He just went out in the rain to cover the boat dear", says another. Rain keeps falling, soft splashes can be heard as footsteps approach. Both look to the door, as an unnatural fog rolls in. Rain drowns out the screams that find their way through the open door soon after.   The Elder Titans have many servants, some of which are aberrations while others are mortals or something in between. Fogman fall in the last category, and are unique to the water Titan Onos-Llyr. His rainstorms and fog clouds have unique insanity-inducing effects, and they can even transform people who are weak of mind into something not quite human. These are often called fogman, or fog ghouls (despite not being undead), for their tendencies to ambush people in fog and their paler complexion.   The changes they undergo affect them in a variety of ways. First of all, their bodily functions are somewhat suppressed and no longer as urgent as a result of them becoming half-aberrations, meaning they can go without food or sleep for extended periods of time. They are also affected by anything that would affect aberrations, as well as anything that would affect humanoid creatures. They are also able to breathe water and move through it with an unnatural innate proficiency. The hold that the Titan has on them is strong, which means it is hard to affect their mind, and if by some strange way one was able to grant them back their sanity, the fogman would likely die instantly.

Intelligence and Social Behavior

They may not be very intelligent, but they are dangerous predatory creatures. Not only for their vicious instincts or their ability to fight well in the fog clouds that always accompany them, but also for their sheer numbers. Any creatures they manage to catch, they knock out and drag back into the fog or rainstorms so that they too may be turned into fogmen. This means that a small group of fogmen can grow to be a serious plague within a month. They communicate among each other in crude forms of Deep Speech, their lack of proficiency compensated for with volume. Mad chattering in fog or rain is a sure sign of impending doom.

Statistics

The strength and type of fogman can vary massively depending on exposure and what the individual was like before being turned. Any physical racial traits will carry over between the forms too. Below is a simple template for the most common human fogman, with the traits that every fogman would at least have.
As an example, below is shown a what a powerful goliath warrior would look like after it has been turned into a fogman by prolonged exposure to the insanity rain.
