Biological Traits

Volar elves usually have alabaster skin, with various hair colors. All Volar have a pair of white wings which enabled them to fly freely in the upper atmosphere of the floating isles. Closer to the group a Volar's fight isn't as stable and they can only fly short distances until they gained much experience in the lower atmosphere.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Volar elves make their homes in the upper atmosphere on isles of floating land usually camouflaged by clouds. They once made their capital on the one of the largest floating isle turning into their great Elven Citadel-City of Glîrgwael

Civilization and Culture

History

During the exploration of trying to find new lands and ways past the storms that preventing finding new lands, a group of elves experimenting with forms of flight magic found themselves in the clouds where they discovered the many floating islands above Rinas. Groups of them began setting up shop to launch further investigations into the storms. Eventually, these small research posts turned into towns and city and the long the elves maintained their life up there, they slowly made the change into the Volar.

Age. Elves reach physical maturity around the age of twenty. Mental maturity and to be considered an adult by their peers is at 150 and can live to be 1200 years old.   Alignment. Elves love freedom, variety, and self-expression, so they lean strongly toward the aspects of chaos.   Size. Elves range from 6 to 7 feet tall and have slender builds. Your size is Medium.   Darkvision. Accustomed to the night sky, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in the dark within 60 feet of you as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.   Keen Senses. You have proficiency in the Perception skill.   Fey Ancestry. You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can't put you to sleep.   Trance. Elves don't need to sleep. Instead, they meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day. (The Common word for such meditation is "trance.") While meditating, you can dream after a fashion; such dreams are actually mental exercises that have become reflexive through years of practice. After resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep. If you meditate during a long rest, you finish the rest after only 4 hours. You otherwise obey all the rules for a long rest; only the duration is changed.   Volar Wings. You have a flying speed of 30 feet. End of each of your turns, if flying you must descend 30 ft, reduced at higher levels, 20 ft (5th), 10 ft (10th), and at 15th, you do not need to descend. You cannot fly if you are wearing medium or heavy armor. Due to the evolution of the Volar wing and their life in the clouds, you can maintain persistent flight at 300 ft or higher.   Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common, Elven, and Auran.
