Izari
Izari is the overall term for 'elves' in the world of Llenaria, in their own tongue. There are three ethnicities that fall under the category of Izari: Wyleni Elf, Hyakian Elf, and Atmari elf.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Izari are characterized by their pointed ears. Typically, they have small frames and narrow shoulders. Although they typically are around 5'9" at their shortest, those who have human blood typically end up shorter depending on their genetics, such as Winter, Moriko, and Kazuhiko.
Like humans, Izari come in a range of shapes. Although Earthen folk insist that Izari are typically thin and graceful, that is far from the truth. There are skinny Izari, fat Izari, Izari born without limbs, intersex Izari, and more! And no, not all of them are graceful either. That's just a myth. Damn humans.
Izari typically have different eye color types than humans, however. Their physiology favors vibrant eye colors due to their deep affinity for primordial magics and ancestry to the fae. So typically they have blue, green, purple, and red eye colors. Red is considered the rarest, purple is the most common. Purple eyes typically have bronze or gold flecks in them, but no one has been able to figure out how. Blue and green are about as common as they are on Earth.
Genetics and Reproduction
Izari produce as other mammals can, and their pregnancy lasts for closer to a year. They can reproduce with humans and sirens.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Also similar to humans, Izari also are omnivorous. In fact, it is extraordinarily difficult for them to only be a carnivore or just a herbavore—they need the nutrients from both meat and plants in order to survive.
Thousands of years ago, Izari were likely the first to discover the use of salt in preserving meats, and they later taught humans and sirens as well.

Blědh is the all-encompassing preferred language of Izari. Dialects crop up in other countries such as Ástela and Vostok, however.

Interspecies relationships are not uncommon. However, there are large groups of Izari that believe in Izari purity, though they do remain a minority.
