The former head of the Marshlyn province, Calvin was sent to live with his Uncle when he was 12 to learn how to become the next Lord Marshlyn due to Alan being unable to produce an heir. A seemingly sweet child before that, due to the ruthless nature of Alan Marshlyn, Calvin began to take after his Uncle once his training began. 
Cold and calculating Calvin Marshlyn was known for getting things done by any means necessary and the other noble families looked to him as a leader while he was around. His tragic death in 1580 was seen as a massive blow to the noble families in Shirdal as they felt a great leader was lost.
