Hunter James Agee
Hunter is a regular in the Midnight Show scene and a bisexual sub.
Physical Description
Long, angular face with deep-set eyes and an easy smile.
Hunter favors jeans and graphic tees for most of his clothing. When at work, he has a specific set of shirts that he won't mind getting dirty or full of spark holes and several pairs of older jeans. He seldom buys new clothing, preferring to shop at Goodwill or similar thrift shops. He carries his 1-year sobriety chip in his jacket pocket.
Mental characteristics
Bisexual, submissive, warily open to scening.
Graduated from Fredonia High School in 2008 with a 3.5 GPA
Graduated from college with a BS in Mathematics (3.0 GPA) in 2018
Attended three summer courses on acting and musical theory.
Works full time as a welder.
Hunter has trust issues after a string of bad relationships with women. He is also genetically predisposed to depression and has had several depressive episodes, including two suicide attempts.
After 2014's Coming of
The Dragon, Hunter is struggling with the memories of being kidnapped, sexually assaulted, and psychically fed on by an
Ousiaphage.
Personality Characteristics
Hunter is fascinated with the mathematics of musical theory and choreography. He has spent a lot of time studying music theory both in an academic sense and as a hobby. He does write music, though he doesn't have an ear for vocalizing. He usually has
Marek help him understand the range of the human voice and what intervals make physical sense rather than mathematical sense.
Hunter regularly struggles to break negative thought patterns that tend to end in depressive spirals. He occasionally self-medicated for depression with alcohol. With Marek and Rich's help, he has been sober since December 24, 2013. His alcoholism follows him like a shadow in most situations but his friends know and do their best to accommodate him.
Hunter craves physical contact almost constantly. He's happiest when in skin contact with someone he trusts, which has led him to having difficulty defining relationships between sexual and platonic.
Social
Hunter considers
Marek Alfweine his best friend and his number one confidant. He's also very close with
Elle Lehtonen as her relationship with Marek develops. He and
Bitch Parker had a history of "friends with benefits" and often default to each other's company in dating and couples arrangements until she meets
Lucien Kasabian. Lucien and Hunter get along very well. Hunter and
Steve Petit have been dating since 2014.
Hunter's parents live in Arizona. He isn't very close to them, though he does visit for holidays.
Hunter is the youngest of three children. His older brother, Jeremy, lives in San Francisco. His older sister, Barbara, lives in Montana.
Hunter's family is nominally Lutheran.
Hunter is fairly quiet in new groups, especially if he feels alone. If he is in company with people he trusts, like
Marek Alfweine or
Steve Petit, he easily shows his goofy sense of humor and swiftness to laugh. He is a touchy-feely friend, often leaning on shoulders, hugging or draping himself across his friends and generally being close to the people he trusts.
Hunter has a female tortoiseshell cat named Alice.
History
Marek and Hunter met at the Midnight Show's first shadowcast of Repo! The Genetic Opera in 2009. A few weeks later, they ran into each other again at a meeting of Topp's Nautical Society. They've been close friends ever since.
Nicknames & Petnames
Hunter almost exclusively calls Marek "Graves" or "Graverobber."
Shared Secrets
They're both members of Topp's Nautical Society.
History
Bitch and Hunter met when Hunter started attending meetings of Topp's Nautical Society with his girlfriend, Jennifer. After his relationship with Jenn ended, Bitch and several other members of Topp's took Hunter under their collective wings. They frequently scene together both publicly and privately and will join each other for public "double dates" though neither is romantically interested in the other. They sleep together as inclination and relationships permit.
History
Steve and Hunter met through Marek Alfweine and the Midnight Theater in 2008. While they were friendly for the beginning of their relationship, romance developed during the events of the Coming of The Dragon in 2014.
Hunter was unable to find work in his academic field, so apprenticed to become a welder. His income is steady enough that he can comfortably afford rent and a moderate car payment, but he is far from affluent. He identifies strongly with the millennial troubles of massive student debt precluding all major "life milestones" his parents' generation assumes will come with adulthood.
