Eilene's Schol

A place of study, established by the first modern Regina of Adura, Eilene's Schol boasts three academies of study for the people of Adura as well as those of other countries wealthy or connected enough to send their children to such a prestigious school.   Most students are enrolled within one college, with the goal to graduate with a degree or honor offered by that school. Most also take classes within the other academies, however, to broaden their academic horizons. Some are too focused on their study in their area of interest to care much about these other schools, and others choose to get generalized certifications - having knowledge and skill in all areas of study offered in the Schol. The three schools are: the School of Medies (arcane), The Bellatorus (martial) and the University of Sensus (scholarly).   A warning that few will heed: there are some that go missing from these schools. Of course, there are sometimes logical explanations, such as the Galanis Family personally inviting them to join the courts, military, or researchers under the employ of the crown. Others simply disappear without a trace, or leave a note saying they are leaving for home immediately. It happens often enough that many of the students joke about it - the Schol's Cut, they call it. Who will be the first one to be Cut from the academy this season? Of course, no one ever thinks that they will be the ones on the chopping block.

School of Medies

The School of Medies is focused on broadening students' magical, arcane abilities - generally wizards and sorcerers are taught in Medies, but there are also opportunities for druids to train as well. Wardens (primarily taught at the Bellatorus) can also receive magical instruction at the academy. Indeed, this is perhaps the place with the greatest concentration of wizards outside of Sarcystle. Some Northlanders come to Medies to study in their early years, while eventually transitioning over to an artificer's apprenticeship when they return home.

The Bellatorus

Not only training the next generation of generals and commanders of the Aduran military, the Bellatorus teaches students of all backgrounds - provided their parents can afford to send them there - the ins and outs of martial aptitude. This means that paladins, rogues, fighters, and monks may work in harmony here (though monks are far less common and feel that the lack of individualized training is detrimental to the students' growth). Not only trained in strategy and physical combat, the students at the Bellatorus are also taught how to remain sharp and disciplined in all things; and given training on etiquette and chivalry. Strangely enough, the Bellatorus class may be the most diplomatically adept out of all students.

University of Sensus

Resting not on the laurels of gods or brawn or arcanum, the students of the University of Sensus rely on science to forge their way. They are future historians, librarians, alchemists, and medical doctors. Oh, they may learn about the deities of Lorannis, but Sensus students are never pressured to worship them (though the statue and symbol of the god Tinel watches over them with the sternest of expressions where ever they should go on campus). The classes in the University of Sensus are made up of Socratic lectures, lab experiments, or peer reviewed presentations. The professors of the Sensus stress that they want their students to learn to work collaboratively, never in a vacuum, which is a different approach than either Medies or Bellatorus will take when instructing their students.
