Undiomede Manor

2.15p

The Fellowship continues their exploration of the manor. Neferu quickly attends to the party's wounds and Kyrrn refocuses. Finding nothing else of interest, they make their way to the second floor.

Second Floor

2.25p

They walk into a small sitting room that most likely was a cozy area to read a book. Even to the untrained eye, it is obvious that there are footprints in the dust on the floor and the outline of a sitting body is visible on one of the chairs. The air is pungent of fish. A large pipe rack of nice smoking implements sits in one corner, from which Kyrrn takes one. A short hallway leads to a door to the south.   Within another hallway, as the Soul goes to open another door, Kyrrn suddenly senses the presence of undead again. She thinks out an alarm quickly and the party leaves the room for now. Moving more cautiously, the Soul examines the next doors but detects nothing. They find what appears to be a study with a large desk and a set of dusty bookshelves. The desk and another chair appear to be covered with a fine yellow dust, which turns out to be a poisonous yellow mold. Neferu detects no magic in the area and sees another door on the other side of the study.

2.35p

Leaving the study for now, the party checks the next room. Within is the rotted remains of a cradle next to a fireplace. A mobile of seashells sways slightly above the cradle. Wary of the mold, the party looks to other ways to gain access to the rest of the manor.   The Soul begins to climb up the side of the manor to another window. He breaks the window and sees another small set of stairs in an attic-like space. A trapdoor is visible in the roof, most likely to the widow's walk. Down the stairs appears to be a master bedroom with a large rotted four posted bed. A few other doors are visible. There is also a wheelchair covered with mold. There is a large stain on the bed and it appears the headboard has been marred by a blade. The artwork on the walls seemed to be similarly damaged. The Unworthy Soul quickly checks the room's contents and finds only rotten clothes and useless bric-a-brac. He moves on.

2.45p

The attic area has a collection of rotted boxes and what looks like a large tome wrapped in a rotted cloth. Neferu transposes positions with the Soul and begins to detect magic in the area. His senses quickly become overwhelmed by the book emanating an aura of conjuration. Neferu takes the tome and transposes again and hands it to Kyrrn. It is a tome bound in cracked whale-hide and fish gut and bones. From it she smells the taint of the Skum as well: the Book of Abstruse Geometries . Kyrrn's eyes widen as she recognize its title. It was first referenced in Ravisterr's business records, the shopkeeper of the New Chapter Bookstore in Thrushmoor.

First Floor

2.55p

The Soul goes to the ruined outhouse behind the manor to investigate it. Looking within, he can see a kitchen and a large table with chairs within. A large overgrown well is nearby as well. Kyrrn begins examining the book. Its Aklo writing is intertwined with arcane symbols and details the Black Goat of a Thousand Young and the Dark Tapestry. It is clear there are details on summonings, rituals, and written spells within it. As Kyrrn and Neferu examine the tome, they begin to physically feel nauseous and the sense of being swept away.   Kyrrn feels an itching behind her eyes and unconsciously rubs at them. She slips into reading the psychometric resonance of the book. She senses a figure cloaked in fine, luxurious clothes placing the book within the attic. It is clearly a man on some stone stairs next to a ceiling with a trapdoor. He closes the door and looks down the stairs towards four other cloaked figures and says, "We are close, but we must figure out if we may trust them first." The figure is obviously Count Haserton Lowls IV.

3.05p

Kyrrn pulls from her pack the frog globe and attempts to scry for the Count. Around her she sees stone walls, worked stone, a long rectangular room. Along the walls are strange copy and glass canisters arranged on all for walls, each canister sit on stone pedestals. About half of the canisters hold disembodies brains filled with bluish fluid. She is fairly certain that the brain canister in front of her is the Count. The room itself about 100 ft. by 50 ft.   Seeing the brain cannisters that could still be holding a living person makes Kyrrn think of some obscure worshippers of Shub-Nigurrath called the Mi-Go, an alien race of sentient fungus creatures.

3.15p

Kyrrn and Nyrrk begin to frantically and excitedly talk to each other as they pace a tight circle. They seem to make a decision and the Fellowship makes the journey back into town.

Illmarsh

Town Hall

3.35p

As they arrive back in Illmarsh, the Festival of Lanterngeist is still ongoing and the town is preparing for the evening's events. The contrast of this and what the Fellowship has been dealing with gives them a sense of mental whiplash. The Fellowship stops at the town hall. Bertha is there, the mayor is not. She looks bedraggled. Kelath mentions they need to get into contact with the Neighbors. She says that she doesn't think that they are still around and that the townspeople did something wrong. Only the church had dealings with the Neighbors, not the mayor. Kyrrn asks about fishgold and Bertha shows her some unworked pieces in the mayor's office. Kyrrn takes one of them.

Croon's Workshop

3.55p

Back at the inventor's workshop, they find that Croon has completed work on the Isinglass. It has about 8 ft. of space a 3 ft. diameter hole in the bottom. The pressure inside the vessel will keep the water out of the submersible. Croon also shows them wax-sealed scroll tubes that have an extra breath in them for remaining underwater longer. When asked, he says it would only take him a few minutes to make more. With the entire party in the submersible there would be about 30 minutes of good air. Croon asks what they have been up to, which prompts Kyrrn to just giggle and to walk into the back with her new treasure, leaving Kelath to fill him in. When the Neighbors are mentioned, Croon tells him if thinks that the tunnels beneath the Turn Rocks are partially filled with air. He has only been down 200 ft. so far and the tunnels are probably around 400 ft. down.   Kyrrn also to the Gifts of the Swamp to exchange some of their horde forSea Touch Elixirs (Lesser), Quickpatch Glue, and Holy Prayer Beads, items they will need for their underwater excursion. She returns with the items and begins to study the Book of Abstruse Geometries in hopes of finding a way to disrupt the anticipated summoning of Shub-Niggurath.
