Liutovitsa (Lew*TOH*vee*tsa)

Liutovitsa (or Lyutovytsa) is a town on the western bank of the Khavzai River. It is located about a day's journey north from Aleksandrovka.
Liutovitsa has roughly 1200 people. It not only dominates a potentially wealthy black earth hinterland, but also specializes in the trade of honey. It is famed for a spring flowing downhill from an elevation above the city, which is reputed to have healing properties, and is used in tonics produced by the city's many healers and wisewomen. As it sits along the trade route that is the Khavzai, it also draws in many foreign merchants. Recently, a group calling itself the Sons of the North Wind has arrived from the north. The Sons trade in furs and amber, as well as local products.
The city is ruled by Vasyl' Mikhalovych, a voevoda appointed by the distant Prince Dmytro Mstislavovich of Vyshemila. The ruler is widely seen as corrupt, and a potential collaborator with the Kochmaki.
A recent attempt to drive him from power, though supported by some religious leaders, seems to have fallen short for the time being.
There are also rumors that Vasyl' imprisoned Amadeo de Luca in the citadel.
