Oleg the Boatman and Family
Oleg lives in a waterfront cottage on the north bank of the Osochenka river. An important source of his livelihood is ferrying people across the river. He has done so twice for party members - once when he ferried Ivan and others to the southern bank when they fled Aleksandrovka en route to the Old Watermill, and a second time, after they returned from the mill, and made their way to Liutovitsa.
Oleg has five grown sons who aid the old man.
