13th Session
General Summary
The party enters Ineshire, the seat of Purgon County three days late due to rain. There's no one at the dock to greet them so they make their way through the town to Marquis Kedar of Prugon's house. On the way, they see the remains of the captured Cyanhemian and its victims strung out in the city square on pillars. Insight checks and dialog reveal that Yavin of Saltcross is quite disappointed that the bodies are so decomposed and the creature doesn't look terrifying, Remez the Scholar seems sad about something, Daniel of Remlow and Skyla Gardabor are trying hard to show anything, Princess Crimson is disturbed and is openly covering her son's, Shalom of Tenpolis, eyes. Tasha Took-Took turns away and sees 3 hooded figures in the shadows, 2 human sized and 1 dwarf sized.
The Marquis is a creep and is going to make the party plus Daniel, Skyla and Allekrier Gershom sleep in the stable. He does make the people involved in the Cyanhemian's capture and interrogation available to Remez. Ellie and Tasha tag along while Theo plays chess with Skyla.
The sheriff, Innogen says the creature came into town 2 months ago under the name "Paul Lovas" and found work from the the victims. A concerned citizen reported he had seen it bleed blue-blood and the sheriff went to check. The creature ran when confronted. It was hunted down with dogs and its victims were captured. They found tools of "unnaturalness" in the home. Inspiration check reveals that she is lying or miss leading you.
Captain Tybalt interrogated the creature. It admitted it had a plot to corrupt the country after a week and a half of interrogation, after which, the Captain slit its throat. Insight check reveals that this guy is full of it. He shows them a veil of the creature's life blood. It's blue all right.
Perdita the healer examined the body and observed the interrogation. She notes that creature withstood techniques that should have killed normal humanoids. It told longer to go limp when held underwater and seemed to have more blood than natural humanoids. It resisted poison and appeared to weaken in the presence of Hemstaim. Side effects included coughing and vomiting when force fed hemstaim. It kept its mental fortitude longer when denied sleep. By the end of the questioning, the burns incurred at the beginning and even the middle of the questioning showed signs of healing beyond what is generally expected. She's telling her truth.
Perdita answered questions about the victims. They were corrupted and controlled by the creature and attempted to protect it after it was exposed. They protested the purification process and ultimately, did not survive it.
Tasha and Elli go back to the stable and explain what happened to Theo and Caspian. After dinner, Crimson comes and pratically begs Ellie to come spend the night in her room, citeing concerns about Shalom's well being. She further explains out of ear shot of others that she is very uncomfortable around the Marquis and would like another woman there. They were going to stay there for three days, but instead, will leave in the morning.
TLDR: The expedition goes to the city where the Cyanhemian was caught. The creature's and people who helped its corpses are strung up on in the city square. They find out about the creature's capture. The offical story is suspicous, but they do learn that there are physical differences. Hemstaim works on them, silver does not.
