14th Session
General Summary
The party goes to sleep in the loft of the stable. Tasha and Caspian wake up to noises. Daniel of Remlow, Skyla Gardabor and Allekrier Gershom are gone. They wake up Theodore and go down the ladder to find Alle strokeing and talking to the horses. After some prodding she admits that she's disturbed by the display in the city square, that she finds it pointless and cruel. Theo goes back to bed. Tasha wakes Ellie by pretending to sneeze really loudly through the earring and Ellie thinks they should find the other two, make sure they're not being tortured somewhere and make sure Theo comes with them. Theo comes down to go with them.
Caspian can't make out individual tracks, but walking along the manor wall turns up Daniel sitting with his back to the wall staring at the manor. When asked, he says his troubled by the the Marquis, Kedar of Prugon, what he'll do to Crimson and Shalom of Tenpolis, and what Daniel will do to him. Insight checks say there's more going on. With more persuasion, he muses about a saying his father used about unmarked graves and facing harsh conquences for things people have no idea were wrong. He wonders what would happen if a Cyanhemian was found in the royal court. Who would die then? He suggests they look for Skyla in a tree.
They do in fact find Skyla up in a tree. Theo manages to get her to say whats going on. She's concerned with what makes a monster, if they exisit or if everyone is just a monster pretending not to be.
The next morning, the expedition leaves Ineshire. The Marquis tries to insist Shalom look at the "display" but Crimson shuts that down saying he doesn't need that in his perfect memory. On the boat, Tasha practices her lyre, Caspian stares at the passing trees, Theo plays cards with Daniel and Skyla and Ellie seeks out Remez the Scholar to talk about what occured in Ineshire.
Remez maintians the offical story although a sight check suggests he doesn't entirally believe it. He explains it away as people simply overstating their parts and points out that there could be different types of Cyanhemians that could have mind altering powers and that the Cyanhemian confessed to conspiresy to overthrow the kingdom. When his sincereity is doubted, he asserts that he would not be traveling across the contintent to a place his government has no diapolamic relations with if he wasn't serious. When pressed again, he lowers his voice and admits that he knows the offical story is bogous and that torture is not a relaible way to get confessions, but that people who act that those things are true, live longer.
In the first night outside of Ruben, Yavin of Saltcross tries to burn Hemstaim, but Alle stops him. During the ensuring arguement, he expresses disappoint about not staying in Ineshire longer and it's dangerous outside of Ruben. She points out he has a perfect memory and doesn't need to stare at dead things, the herb shouldn't be wasted and that he has warriors around to protect him. She does allow both Ellie and Caspian to each take a bundle of Hemstaim.
The leave the boat in Iago and spend a night in an inn where Ellie buys a spoon. They set out over land to the Culoin Forest. At the enterence to forest, Skyla, who has been scouting ahead, meets them and says there's a company of bandits about 2 miles ahead. The party go with Daniel and Skyla to clear them out. Daniel one-hits 2 bandits, Theo trips over a log and loses his blade, Skyla and one of the bandit archers fall out of trees, the bandit captain gets knocked prone twice and Tasha stands back and mocks the bandits. They go back to the rest of the expedition and that's where the session ends.
TLDR: The 3 other non ethnic Rubenites are distributed by the scene from last session. The party leaves Ineshire early. Remez isn't as gullible as he seems, but he likes to live. Both Shalom and Yavin hve perfect memories. The expedition is traveling on horse and in the elf forest, Culoin Forest. They clear out a company of 6 bandits. Theo makes a fool of himself in the fight, while Daniel is the MVP.
