30th Session
General Summary
This takes place on 21/4/8499, about 2.5 hours after the second attempt in the 29th Session. There is evidence that the second changeling took a boat. They talk to the game warden who is unaware of anyone coming to his house.
Interrogating "Fakttis" reveals that it's name is 18, the other one is 9. The The Order of the Iron Path's hideout is under an old church. With failure, they will be made "better." They're not actually trying to kill the princess, but capture her. Miguel was a contact. 9 is who they send when a changeling runs. The party takes to calling 18 "81" since it seems to care about the number ranks and this changeling is far less likeable than Nova 15. The Old Ones around explain that the Iron Path are trying to recreate Agelessness. A common theory about the princess is that she is a ordinary woman whose been adopted by the king. The Iron Path may believe she is a new Old One and want to study her. The idea of someone unlocking process of Agelessness is deeply offensive to them, especially the time sisters, Marisol and Marluna who vehemently believe such power only belongs to the Creator, Giver and their keepers of time.
After the interrogation, 81 is locked in a closet and the princess is returned to her room. Everyone else has lunch in the dinner room and discuss what to do next. Theo asks about tracking devices. Galla has a way of doing it, but she'd rather not as it does have a risk of harming bystanders; however, Goldblade no longer has trackers and he refuses to have Eirianwen build any. Galla will do it.
Galla does suggest that they make a deal with the Iron Path and give them some blood and some time of immunity if they leave the princess alone. Marisol is upset that they would even think of giving the Iron Path blood, but Theo points out that it doesn't have to be actual Ageless blood. They decide to send 81 back with a tracker as a peace offering, use fake blood and spend the immunity time making plans to take the path out.
The Society of the Golden Sun still needs to be dealt with. The Colonel plans to speak to them tomorrow, singing the princess's praises and telling them that if something happens to her, he will go into permanent retirement after he avenges her. The party is unconceived that that will work, believing that they many turn more on her believing she is some sort of "witch" or that they could manipulate him into returning, though he is adamant he would not. He at least would like to try to see who of the society may be it behind by watching reactions when he praises her.
Eirianwen, over hears that Goldblade is going to say nice things about her as she's going to let her puppy out, and wants to come hear it. The Colonel tells her "no" and to get back upstairs. She pleads with him to let her come and gets him to relent to a "I will think about it." and a promise to visit her later. After she leaves, the party attempts to convince the colonel to let her come listen, but a low roll leaves him unpersuaded.
