Siege of the Rose Citadel
The Conflict
Prelude
The Federal Army has taken everything west of the Scented Stream and now looks to expand past it. The war has been long and drawn out and winter quickly begins to take the contents once more. The full encirclement of the Rose Citadel occurred on the 8th of Turning Leaves.
Outcome
The fall of the Rose Citadel allowed the Federal Republic to control the Scented Stream and Bridged Peakes.
Aftermath
With control of the city, the Federal Republic renamed the Rose Citadel to Mayim's Gate. Projects began to repair Mayim's Keep. In more recent times the city has grown quite a bit, especially with the ever-growing influx of soldiers and military personnel.
Historical Significance
In Literature
Stories of this siege go far and wide. Inside the Federal Republic, it is seen as a great victory over the Orc menace. In the Duke's Dust, it is seen as a valiant effort and a lesson that even the republic can be held at bay for quite a while.
Technological Advancement
A Republican military technician created a new siege weapon for the attack. Since the Federal Military had been stalled for almost a decade at the Rose Citadel morale was low and the war drawing to a close. In a last-ditch effort, the technician proposed the idea of a new catapult that never been seen. The Federal Martial took his idea and sent theses trebuchets to the city. The walls quickly fell before them and the city was captured within the day.
