House of Thoth (thawth)

The House of Thoth (3,209 LE - present) is a necromancy coven that was ultimately absorbed into the Macabre Triumvirate by the Academy of Birthright. 
The House of Thoth originated in 3,209 LE, the same year that Qalvi Varai had mobilized his empire, the Gate of Thoth (3,209-3,215 LE) and began his bloodthirsty conquest on Lumina's round continent of Leona. 
It survived the Gate's dissolution after Varai's annihiliation, when its members went underground due to persistent military pressure from the Luminary Authority, which had grown confident after the Gate's 10,000-strong Qalryan army had melted into ectoplasm upon Varai's true death.
Popular opinion about the most dangerous arm of the Triumvirate is ongoing. Anwar Delatyrre of the Leona Herald once emphasized that it says something about the Leonian mind, that many have expressed more fear of the House of Thoth than of the Cannibal Congregation, or even the Academy of Birthright.
