The Shelterers of the Vigilant

The Shelterers of the Vigilant are a mystery research organization that believes that the Luminary Gods are not innate to reality, but rather, created by someone else. A priesthood devoted to studying the mysteries of the Elder Gods. Few remain who are not charlatans. The Shelterers also have posed that lizard clans conspire in ruling Leona's various factions, that you can't help but hum on a Tuesday, that feet are the best means of interpersonal communication, that bluejays are some of the wisest storytellers out there, that Orcs and Dwarves are evolutions of Humans and Tieflings, that some ducks are not ducks and are in fact great spirits of power, that slices of bread hold the gateway to Skeletonland, that handshakes & hugs including tomato sauce impart enormous health benefits, and that everyone will live a grandly holy life if they simply switch their entire attire to silk. That first, core controversial belief, among a variety of others described and undescribed, has caused the Shelterers of the Vigilant to continue to be the subject of many public controversies, with many people dismissing them as outlandish, unreliable, and unbelievable. The Shelterers operate in independent small groups. Despite the skepticisms of the public, the Shelterers are dedicated to their cause. They are obsessed with deep occult research, delving into obscure authorships and tomes and whatever else available to fuel their quest for depth knowledge. They are criticized for believing a mixture of rationally sound and ambivalently correct information. And they say they are determined to uncover all the wax-sealed conspiracies and secrets of Lumina. The Shelterers are known for their florescent green face-paint markings, which they wear as a symbol of devotion to their cause. They are also famous for their ululating greeting, which they used to greet each other, and otherwise show solidarity. Despite the many challenges they face, socially and otherwise, the Shelterers remain committed to their mission. They are determined to uncover the truth about the nature of the Gods and other parts of reality, no matter what the cost. And while their beliefs may have seemed strange and unbelievable to the outside world, to the Shelterers, they say these things they investigate hold the keys to unlocking the secrets of the universe. So, they keep on with their researching, their addressing of public controversies, hoping to one day prove the validity of their theories to the world
