Around the time when the The Missing Moon disappeared, a magical plague began to overtake the land, severely limiting the world's access to magic.

When the magic plague began, it was centered in Kieli and affected only the magic from Pelatorem the Flying Goddess used mainly by the Mustekala in Keskus. However, this shift in the magical landscape began to bleed into other areas of magic, and soon those magics were waning as well. The plague spread through the portals, most heavily affecting towns that were connected to Keskus. It continued to spread, though, and was soon affecting the magic in towns connected by land or air, albeit to a lesser extent. This magical shortage lasted for around 15 years.
