Personal history
Nyla was born to Ana Octin as a concubine of Candurill Aevoridge. Having taken on many women to release his seed in an effort to create a son for experimentation of his own power. Given the birth of a daughter, Ana knew the child would suffer even worse than a son would have and escaped, going into hiding. Unbeknownst to her at the time, she had been marked by Candurill with a curse that would slowly eat away at her body and allowed him to know her location if he so chose.
During her time getting away Ana had grown a friendship with the Draconis Zosah whom helped her escape and find refuge. Offering help and protection for Ana and her new born daughter. Years went by and Nyla became comfortable and friendly with Zosah. In an order to protect Nyla where she could, Zosah offered her a connection that would give Nyla the a piece of Zosah's own abilities. Ana and Zosah kept Nyla hidden and protected from the outside world, for her pointed ears would be seen as trouble or the potential for an Elfar threat.
As Ana grew more sick and her health declined further, Nyla took it upon her own power to seek out a cure. Traveling down to the city of Davenport looking for any way to give aid and cure her mother from whatever mystery ailed her. It was here she snuck aboard a large ship, a massive vessel she had never seen before. And she knew that something on that ship must hold what she seeks. As Nyla searched for anything that could aid her, she accidentally dropped something alerting others to her location. It was here that she was confronted by Sorren, Lucy, and Arlo. Beginning her journey to maturity, and a difference in the world.
