There is a celebration that goes long into the night punctuated by some momentous events. Opal slaps Rufus Abercrombie and tells him that he needs to get over his hatred of Giak s. The Somer Boys spend time practicing swordplay with the visiting Giak s.

Late in the night, Zlither ambushes Rai in her room. Kira fires an arrow into the Inn of the Green Man , injuring Khialli . And, a final priest of Tulek enters the Inn of the Green Man to kill the party. There is a fight in the streets in the middle of the night. Kira and the priest are slain, but Zlither once again gets away, barely slipping away from Lucien .

Later in the evening, Fustov arrives to congratulate Lucien on his victory. He hands Lucien a spellbook of Right Handed Magic in accord with their agreement. Fustov makes plans to meet back with Lucien in six months.
