The sleepy town of saltmarsh errupts into protests and counterprotests regarding the arrest of and subsequent investigation into Gellan Primewater.

In the wake of the arrest of Gellan Primewater and the resulting probe into his misdeeds, Saltmarsh is beset by protests calling for his release and counterprotests accusing Eliander of leading a coup. These protests lead to widespread arrests and riots. Only Uk-Thin's intervention to gain Tom and Will Stoutly's Marine Corps is able to convince Captain Fireborn to use a lighter hand. The protests die down with time.
