Hangu (Han-goo)
Tengu native to the high peaks of Kirru, the hangu view themselves as the superior tengu, closest to the divine due to their increased flight capabilities. Resembling hawks and other high-flying birds of prey instead of crows, the hangu have much larger arm wings that grow in quickly after birth, and thus can achieve actual flight much easier than other tengu.

Most hangu speak prioritize learning Auran, and unlike other tengu, often don't feel the need to learn many other languages.

Hangu have very ridged social structures, and expect to be treated with respect based on their status. Those who disrespect a hangu are likely to create a lifelong enemy, but similarly, many hangu will gladly sacrifice itself for the sake of its "subjects".

Many hangu wear flowing robes designed to help belay air friction and aid in their flights.
Art & Architecture
Hangu love building long towers, especially ones that don't have entrances that can not be easily accessed without the ability to fly.

Hangus have voracious appetites, and are well known for making a wide variety of filling dishes.
Birth & Baptismal Rites
Hangu are born unable to digest their own food, and must be fed pre-digested food in a manner similar to normal birds. Most hangu view this phase of their life as quite an embarrassment, and dislike having it spoken of.
Coming of Age Rites
Young hangu must make harrowing flights through long canyons to prove their flying skill, and also often are forced into career paths by their parents. Another common rite is to give a young hangu an eagle chick to train, and once the hangu cannot be considered an adult until the eagle is grown and fully reared.
Funerary and Memorial customs
Hangu a buried in large familial mountaintop ziggurats, often entombed with many of their personal items.

Associating with races tied to the earth, such as Eleyea or the Enthos is viewed as distasteful.
Common Myths and Legends
Nearly all hangu worship Ra, the tengu god of the sky, and while not the oldest member of the tengu pantheon, is considered by many its default ruler.

Beauty Ideals
Even more than most tengu, the hangu are obsessives with their cleanliness, always attempting to keep themselves well groomed and their feathers.

Like normal tengu, the hangu are relatively equal in their gender roles.
Courtship Ideals
A courting hangu must attempt to catch their potential partner in a chase through the sky, creating a beautiful sky-dance of sorts.
Relationship Ideals
Hangu are fiercely territorial and defensive, with both parents having equal and completely control over the actions of their chicks. Due to their sometimes arrogant natures, few hangu have close friends outside of the Eleyai. While this attitude can be a hindrance, many hangu have a strong sense of justice, and few can be turned away from a noble cause once they decide to commit to it, and such actions often gains the hangu at least begrudging respect of its peers.
Major organizations
A vast majority of hangu live and work for the Svanti Empire, viewing the Eleyai as kindred spirits and arbitiers of the sky. They have aided them in their conquest of the realm, and many hangu have a hand in building and maintain the nations mechanical airships.
