The Doom of Metis is a myth that explains the great remnants of
Metian civilization such as
Metia that can be found in
Colodos and the
Metian Peninsula.
Myth
Before the
War of the Gods, Metis was supposedly an entirely peaceful civilzation consisting of the demigod
First Ones. However, hellish influences soon encroached on Materia, corrupting the minds and hearts of the Metian people and bringing about war. Eventually, this war saw the death of most of the First Ones, and the Doom drove any mortal descendants of the Metian people far away from their homeland, leaving it abandoned. It is said that ruins of Metis are now cursed, forever a reminder of a peaceful age destroyed by sudden conflict.
