First One

The First Ones, sometimes referred to as Demigods, were diverse variety of divine humanoid creatures native to Metis fashioned in the image of a higher power. Initially godlike in their powers, the powers of the First Ones waned throughout the War of the Gods until their alleged extinction. In their place, mundane humanoids persisted, such as Humans, Dwarves, Elves, and so on. First ones are usually discernable by the dull gold color of their blood, which is often referred to as ichor. Some creatures have an unclear relationship with the First Ones, such as Dragons and by extension Dragonborn, who claim to be as old as the First Ones and distinct from them.

Notable First Ones

Founder of the Anzai Dynasty Sora Anzai was a First One that remained extremely powerful even into the twilight years of the War of the Gods. She was influential on the human Shou and instrumental in the founding of the Shou Empire. Followers of the Cult of Melora depict the Goddess Melora as originally being a First One from Materia before later gaining enough power to become a goddess.
