Monoliths of the First

Purpose / Function

The Monoliths of the First marks the location where the first sultan was buried. Though it is unknown where the actual chamber of his burial is many people have traveled there for both religious purposes and study purposes. It serves as a cultural landmark and as a memory of what once was.

Architecture

The Monoliths all have 12 upper floors and 7 inner chambers. Citizens can only access the main floor of each monolith through normal means. Those that attempt to venture into the alternative floors end up dead or jailed immediately.

History

The First Sultan built his own tomb with the intent of preserving his memory and reminding the people of who they are. He built each monolith to represent a different sphinx and made the central statue a close representation of his likeness. Upon his death, he was brought there by only two of his most trusted servants who never left the tomb after bringing him to the chamber.
