Tower of Magus

Purpose / Function

The Tower of Magus is a magical academy and is home to several apprentice level scholars. It is, most notably, a school where people can go to learn more about psionics and is the home school for all Psionic Wizards.

Alterations

The tower is guarded by three sleeping sphinx, whos psionic power is strong enough to fell even the strongest of armies. They have not awakened once throughout history, however, it is believed that if they awaken then they could likely bring an end to the civilization of Raaisel. It is for this reason that the tower has a special rune on it, placed by a prophet of The Almighty, that emits a seal onto the sphinx so that they sleep eternally in a stone form.

Architecture

The tower stands tall and vigilant over the desert and can be seen from the beautiful oasis around Helma'an. It is strongly reinforced on a physical level and a magical level and has a vibrancy that would leave the mouth of a newcomer ajar for an extended period.

History

It is said that the first Sultan of Raaisel had the three sphinx as familiars and, through the power of the sphinx, he constructed this tower during a race for magical knowledge and power against the people of Musa. This tower ended up jump starting a magical renaissance within Naisaam and brought about a deeper understanding of psionics and magical power.
