Coral Mer
Basic Information
Anatomy
The smallest of mer, resembling human children long after they have reached adulthood. Their hair tends towards brighter colours, sometimes turning blue and other unnatural colours, though they look perfectly in place with the coral reefs they inhabit.
Growth Rate & Stages
Coral mer grow slowly, often the size of human foetuses and babies for decades. Particularly old ones will become roughly the size of human children under 10 years.
Ecology and Habitats
The wide coral reefs along many of the Broshan islands.
Dietary Needs and Habits
As with other mer, they feed on fish, though their small size allows them to also reach into holes and crevices within the coral to catch shrimp and crabs.
Additional Information
Social Structure
Tightly-knit family groups that live in specific reefs. Some more impulsive ones move to other reefs to find mates, though most tend to wait for families to bring their children to meet each other.
