Arahbo Greatheart

What Do We Know?

Brigadier General Arahbo Greatheart, or to us simply known as Arahbo, is a male leonin of approximately 31 years of age. Arahbo is one of the members of the Menagerie of Chaos and is well known for being skilled with a variety of weapons, be them magical or not, and infusing them with runic magic. Arahbo is known to have at least a loose connection to the god Moradin which has given him the ability to use small amounts of druidic magic when he sees fit to do so. He is often seen as one of the more grounded and trustworthy members of the Menagerie and always seeks good and only harms those for which he has been given no other choice. Additionally, he is someone who we know suffers from some form of PTSD, with death being something it is hard for him to watch (not that its easy for others necessarily).
Arahbo is from the nation to the east in Eisilfel known as Efrava. Prior to Arahbo joining the Menagerie, he at some point fled the nation due to, from what we have gathered, a rather oppressive ruler named Kaxiz Goldenhide. After that point Arahbo and his wife Sonya Greatheart moved to Thaneas where they both still permanently reside today. Arahbo was also a member of the military for the Laidencross Empire. It was there that he served as one of the powerful "Rune Knights". At some point during his deployment, it is known that something traumatic happened to him while he was in the city of Esterwell. It is there that it is believed he began to develop the trauma he now suffers from today ocassionally in battle.
Arahbo first met and joined the Menagerie of Chaos back in the city of Blackburn alongside the other three original members when he was arrested for seemingly looking like a northerner. He was supposedly fleeing to the city of Blackburn after having met with an old friend of his, Prexor Spiritpride. Shortly after that meeting he was pointed out as a potential northern spy when he was recognized by members of the city of Yuross (where Prexor and him met), so he ran, only to later be caught in Blackburn instead.
Since then Arahbo has travelled alongside the Menagerie of Chaos, where we learned Arahbo is medicated for his PTSD like symptoms using potions that have an ingredient in them called Dragon's Bane. The first notable thing to happen while travelling with Arahbo was shortly after meeting some goblins in the woods near an orc encampment. It was there that he discovered a sword embedded in a stone, which he was able to pull free. Unfortuantely, that was only part of a sword and he has been searching for the other pieces ever since. Arahbo has found one other piece in the gardens near the potion shop Sonya runs in Thaneas. It is believed that this sword has the power to kill kings with ease, granted it is once more whole.
When the party travelled beyond the Grand Archway, we took a small detour to a military fort known as Fort Adanto where Arahbo had a private conversation with Sir Ilian, the man who founded and ulitmately commands the Rune Knights.
Additoinally, while mentioned above that Arahbo has the ability to utilize druidic magic, he did not always have the ability to do so. While in the city of Andron, Arahbo and his mother-in-law Zamara Spiritpride ran into each other at a potion shop the Menagerie were looking to purchase from. It was there in Andron that he was scolded for having run off and become a mercenary but also more importantly where Zamara later taught him the way of druidic magic.
Shortly after that, the Menagerie battled a dragon near the city which the bones of have since been used to create powerful dragon armor that Arahbo wears to this day.
Since first finding the pieces of the "King Slayer", Arahbo, and as a result the entire Menagerie have grown closer to the northern government of the Laidencross Empire and the H.O.A. While the party was in the city of Thaneas, we attended a meeting with the H.O.A where we witnessed Arahbo speak with the archmages about a recent development in Efrava. It was reported that saltpeter had begun being harvested in Efravan mines and traded with the Orndoth Domain. For these reasons, while the north would prefer to handle things diplomatically, Arahbo had suggested that they give him time to find the remaining pieces of the blade so he can aid in removing Kaxiz Goldenhide from power which should help to prevent the recent development of trade of saltpeter and the actions that would likely follow it (or so we all hope).
Additionally during our invasion of the vampire-infested city of Famel in the northern half of Eisilfel, we ran into an old fellow Rune Knight of Arahbo's named Granite who helped us succesfully destory the vampire Lord Holsen Yersinia.
As of more recently, Arahbo has provided the Menagerie of Chaos with the opportunity to work for the northern government and get paid to do so. While some members were reluctant, everyone agreed, and we swore to only eliminate necromancers in the list of interest if provoked and forced to do so to save each other or other's lives.
