Pari

What Do We Know?

Pari is a non-binary halfling of approximately 26 years of age or 76 years of age depending on who you ask. Pari is one of the members of the Menagerie of Chaos and is well known for being incredibly stealthy, having an uncanny ability to find their way past almost any lock, and having some strange connection with magic which allows them to summon knives made of magical energy. Pari is known to have some connection to the goddess Avandra due to their past life of hunting. They are one the more troublesome members of the Menagerie, often finding themselves in places and situations far beyond the reaches of where they should ever be. It is also known that Pari, at least for as long as the other members of the Menagerie have known them, has been allergic to magic, causing them to sneeze somewhat uncontrollably in the presence of the manipulation of the arcane.
Pari is from the nation to the south of Eisilfel known as the Orndoth Domain and more specifically from the coastal city of Huxford. They were born there as a child of the wealthy Bellowpitch Family, where they grew up until the age of 25. At that point Pari went out hunting and somehow managed to stumble their way into the Feywilds. It was here that Pari would ultimately find themselves stuck for approximately 50 years. During their 50 years in the Feywilds, they found themselves involved with the archfae which offered them the job of killing an archfae by the name of Illitran in exchange for their ability to go back to the Material Plane. They ultimately failed in that quest but were able to perform a ritual which both simultaneously captured Illitran in a knife and granted Pari their freedom.
Pari first met and joined the Menagerie of Chaos in the southern mining town of Blackburn alongside the other 3 original members of the Menagerie. Upon having re-emerged in the Material Plane, Pari had found their way to Blackburn where they were ultimately arrested for stealing goods from the general store.
They, from that moment onward, travelled with the rest of the Menagerie of Chaos where we learned very quickly that Pari has no memory of what happened in Eisilfel or the rest of the Material Plane for at least the last 50 years and is convinced they simply got lost in the woods for a few days. Other members of the Menagerie would later go on to help Pari with some research which allowed us to conclude they likely were suffering from memory loss and a lack of aging for the last 50 years due to time spent in the Feywilds.
Additionally, while travellng with Pari, we learned that they have an interest in making jewelry made of bones. For this reason after some difficult situations Pari has been found making bone-bead necklaces as gifts for other members of the Menagerie of Chaos.
Later on in our travelling, after having gone north of the Grand Archway, Pari unintentionally crossed paths with Illitran once more, finding the cursed knife they had once successfully trapped him in. After finding it and touching it, Pari then began to converse with Illitran again, but only with in their own head. The party did not find out about this situation until much later however.
Then, while in the northern capital city of Thaneas, Pari was finally able to, with Loxia and Dawnfather Daiak's help, regain access to their once lost memory. This too would not be found out by the party until well after it happened. So for the longest time Loxia was the only one who knew.
Later in the same city, the party required a security clearance in order to attend an H.O.A meeting. which was a gathering of the archmages to discuss the recent breach of an extradimensional space known as The Hole. It was during the interrogation for the security clearance, that Pari was forced to reveal their name and identity, which differed from what the party knew them as. It was at this point it was discovered that Pari was actually a daughter of a wealthy family of the name Bellowpitch and their true name was in fact Elmila Bellowpitch.
Shortly after that, the party found themselves in The Void, and specifically Pari found themselves in a situation in which they were being carried off to solitary confinement by a guard when Pari made the decision to ask Illitran for help. This request was acepted by him so long as they understood that him helping would require him to take control of their body. Pari still accepted the deal and they were ultimately able to defeat the guard. However, ever since then Pari and Illitran have seemingly wrestled for control of the body on any given day. Pari has since found ways to ocassionally force their way into control for a day, but every morning it's a coin toss with who you will be speaking to till the next sunrise.
Much later, shortly before leaving Llurth Drier, after having dealt with a drow who was wanted in the city, Pari was offered to join a group known as The Sooten who we know Seb and Lyric also work for and are affiliated with. The exact results of that conversation are only known to Seb, however, Pari now carries a knife that looks similar to Seb's. So, some assumptions could be made that they likely accepted that offer.
Upon arriving in Mahone, the party took some down time which was when Pari demonstrated their first more traditional manipulation of the arcane, now being able to reliably cast the cantrip Prestidigitation.
