Basic Information

Anatomy

Yuan-Ti are anatomically and physically very similar to humans, with a handful of notable differences. Rather than fleshy skin, they instead sport leathery flesh and scales, and their head is that of a snake. Whether that be cobra, emperor, rattle or otherwise depends on the family, but most types of snakes are represented among the castes of the Yuan-Ti.

Genetics and Reproduction

Yuan-Ti are born in clutches of eggs, typically in counts of anywhere from 5-12. They incubate and are tended to by both parents for several weeks, before hatching and beginning their growth process. Yuan-Ti are unable to mate with any other race, due to their uniquely affected biology. They mate for life, and typically begin a mating process at around ages 18-21.

Growth Rate & Stages

Playable Yuan-Ti have similar life cycles to humans, maturing at around 18, and living for around a century. However, like snakes, they also shed relatively frequently, though less so than their true ophidian kin, only doing so about once every two years.
