Devotary of Protection

The Devotary of Protection act as the police and the army for Mercadia. Neither arm of the devotary sees much action, as policing patrols rarely find criminals, and the army has not been mobilized since the Last Night. Most crimes are reported to the devotary after the fact, at which time they are assigned to a priest from the Devotary of Justice. The Winged of this devotary are responsible for patrols and responses to emergencies (such as fires). Priests of Protection act as sergeants, and manage the locations of patrols and ensure training is up to standard.

Tenets of Faith

The Devotary of Protection believes every member of the church deserves equal protections from dangers- internal or external. They believe that martial prowess is of the utmost importance, and that training is the most important way to protect their countrymen.

Priesthood

Priests of Protection determine the patrol routes for their Winged, the training regimens, and coordinate with the priests of the Devotary of Redemption and the Devotary of Justice to ensure the guilty are being guarded as they complete their labor-oriented tasks.
Paths to priesthood in this devotary is through a military-style promotion. Excelling as a Winged will increase the chances of advancement.

Gaining Wings

Prospects for the Devotary of Protection must pass a fitness test, a combat test, and a survival test in the Garden of Freyalise.
