The Aesir
The Aesir are among the oldest and most powerful gods of Midgard. It is their leader Wotan who rallied the early gods against both their draconic creators, Tiamat and Bahamut, as well as the Titan Ymir; the former were imprisoned while the later was slain and had his corpse molded into the world we know as Midgard today. The Aesir stand today more as a divine family than they do an actual panetheon, many having blood relation to one another. United together, they dominate the religous beliefs of most people in Midgard. They do not demand worship because they need it, they demand it because they think they deserve it. The Aesir can prove to be very generous to their worshippers granting great boons while also becoming a force of destruction for those that oppose them. However, like most other gods, they rarely take direct action in the world out of fear of their actions triggering the start of the prophesized end of the world, Ragnarok.
