Alpha Centauri System

The Alpha Centauri System is a trinary star system with one habitable planet and six uninhabitable planets. The system primary is Alpha Centauri A, a Class G star, which orbits with Alpha Centauri B, a Class K star. The main planetary system is itself orbited by Proxima Centauri, a Class M red dwarf that has its own, much smaller, planetary system. The system was the first destination for Human interstellar exploration, with the UNS Discovery entering it in early 2200 CE. The continental world of Alpha Centauri III, now called Horizon, was first settled by Human colonists in 2203 CE. Today, the system is of critical importance to the United Nations of Earth, as it provides a significant quantity of raw metals and manufactured goods to the rest of the nation.
