Proxima Centauri b
Proxima Centauri b is a planet in orbit of the star Proxima Centauri, located in the Alpha Centauri System. Although long believed by Human scientists to be habitable, the arrival of the UNS Discovery in 2200 CE proved otherwise. However, it has been proposed as a candidate for large-scale terraforming, as artificial magnetic fields and a planetary shield could protect the now-barren world from Proxima Centauri's intense solar winds. In the absence of any terraforming, the planet is studied by researchers for future endeavours, and mined for valuable metals. An orbital of the Alpha Centauri Habitat Complex orbits the planet.
