Ganymede
Ganymede is the largest moon of Jupiter, and the largest moon in the Sol System. It is named for the mythical Human hero Ganymede, who was the cup-bearer of the king of the gods. The entire surface of Ganymede is covered in a 150 kilometre-thick layer of ice, beneath which is a subsurface salt ocean. The lack of materials led early colonisation of Ganymede to focus on ice extraction, and it continues to be, along with Callisto, an important source of water for the Sol System. Ganymede is orbited by a minor orbital of the Sol Habitat Complex, which provides most of the housing and services for those working on the surface.
