About Dragons
"Dragons? There are no dragons. Only children and fools believe in dragons. Those are all fairy tales to make children behave."
Dragons are extinct. If they ever existed at all. For without ruins, without documents of draconic origin, without eyewitnesses, anyone can claim that there once were giant lizard-like beings that flew through the skies of Mirintha. However, there are some records of Perian origin that speak of the dragons. Also, the Song of Life is one of the documents that clearly attests to the existence of dragons.
It is therefore generally assumed that the dragons, who lived mainly in Borendal during the first age, became extinct sometime during this age or mysteriously left Mirintha forever. Few people doubt their existence entirely. Their disappearance also explains the existence of the Kadal, who were created at the beginning of the third age by Karas, the son of the goddess Cahaya and the dragon Bjarnskvir, as a memory of the dragons.
"Dragons? Of course there are dragons. And one day they will return. And on the day of their return, they will destroy all those who are unworthy. Those who did not believe in them and longed for their return. With fire and claws, they will annihilate the unbelievers, and only their devoted servants will be deemed worthy to continue living as their subjects."
There are various individuals and groups who even believe that the dragons are still in Mirintha. However, no one knows their exact whereabouts. Extremist groups go so far as to claim that the dragons will one day return. Among these groups, efforts are being made to hasten this return. While in most groups these efforts are limited to animal sacrifices and conjurations, dark rumors even speak of human sacrifices.
Okay, da hast du dir wirklich was ganz eigenes gemacht. Von der Aufmachung her ist es wirklich schön gelungen mit den mittigen Bildern und den Zitateinrahmungen. Stimmungsvoll ist es definitiv auch. Allerdings bin ich jetzt ein wenig verwirrt, was denn nun der Mythos ist... dass Drachen leb(t)en oder dass Drachen ausgestorben sind? Wenn anscheinend eine Göttin ein Kind mit einem Drachen hatte und es sogar eine Sprache der Drachen gibt, von der übersetzt werden konnte (es sei denn, das ist auch die Sprache der Kadal) und eben diesen Song... müsste es doch eigentlich darum gehen, dass bzw. ob Drachen weg sind. Oder? Wenn ja wäre es für die Verständlichkeit vielleicht besser gewesen, das noch mal genauer klar zu stellen. Und wenn es darum geht, ob sie überhaupt lebten, dann eh, weil dann habe ich es zumindest nicht verstanden. Aber sonst sehr hübsch.
Also, sie haben definitiv gelebt. Dafür gibt‘s ja mindestens einen Beweis. Es weiß nur keiner, mal abgesehen von mir, ob es sie noch gibt oder nicht. Und in der Bevölkerung gehen die Meinungen auseinander ☺️
