Immestrai
Kingdom of Immestrai
Overview
The Kingdom of Immestrai, or Ammastre, is one of the premier powers on the continent of Nirann, able to compete directly with Ornemere, Ischarra, and Thadia. The realm was once rather diverse with Ischarri lords ruling over the Serrenese and minority peoples, but since then the Ischarri have adopted customs of the Serrenese and thus the culture of Sejua was born.Etymology
Immestrai or Ammestrai is an Ischarrization of the name Emmastre. This has multiple etymologies, with the element Emmas being either from Anma (flower), Ane (Life), Aanma (Soul the second element Tre is either from Tara (mountain), Tara (Gift), or Ostre (Coast). The most popular combination is "flowering coast."History
The history of Amastre is rather unknown, with the first written records coming from the Ingharans who claim that the Uzhilli and Native Sirrense (Pre-Soranni) had lived there by the time they began writing of them. The region was conquered by the Ketsing and the Serrenese (Soranni Settlers) became the majority. As the empire's power waned, realm was divided under principalities until a descendant of the general Merovea, Sidemin, invaded and unified them. Eventually, one of Sidemins descendants in the far north, Atshara, unified the Ischurri realm and conquered Immestrai. Eventually, he died in Immestrai, passing the throne to his son Dietrai, which saw the kingdom being split after his death. Thus as it stands, the Amastri realm is one of two Ilsairi-led realms, countries that have claims to the emperorship.Since the days of Atshara, the country has prospered due to the development of major cities like Illoreanna and Lamilais under the Ilsairi monarchs. The manufactories at Lamilais are renowned for producting cheap equipment using their forges, which greatly benefits from the mines of Ischurrai nearby. Izegen is renowned for her bread-basket fields that can be used to produce food for elsewhere in the country.
