Order of Khamar
A Heretical Agrikian Clerical Order who disappeared over 200 years ago.
The Order of Khamar was founded by the Azeryani Agrikian missionary, Marasalir to search for the divine 888 Sacred Cairns which are at the center of Agrikan theology. The Order was popular with the Legions of the Corani Empire, to which it provided skilled weaponsmiths.
The Order's primary temple was lost when the Empire settlement at Kustan was sacked in 477TR, and in 489TR, the Agrikian Pontiff declared the Order of Khamar heretical. It soon disappeared from the pages of history.
History
420TR - The Order of Khamar was founded by Marasalir, a mysterious and charismatic Azeryani missionary exiled from the Azeryan Empire for preaching the “Khamari heresy,” a dogma out of favor with the church leadership. The Order soon proved popular with the Corani Empire's Legions and played an important part in its expansion in the west. The Order's primary temple was based at Kustan, in the Peran Wilderness. The Order unsuccessfully made many attempts to convert the Kubora Barbarians to Agrik.
477TR - The temple at Kustan was plundered with most priests and guards killed during the great Kubora uprising. The Order was crippled and received no assistance from the Emperor Sylud.
485TR - The new Emperor Saurach was a fanatical Agrik worshiper and generously supported the Order, funding a new temple in Coranan. It was on the verge of making a return to prominence when Saurach was assassinated in 491TR.
489TR - The Amanasurif (Agrikian pontiff) declared the Order of Khamar heretical.
491TR - Religious and civil persecution drove the Order into hiding, becoming a secret cult. The orders newly constructed temple was demolished to make way for housing tenements for the poor.
634TR - The cult finally disbands with some members likely to have founded the Order of Mamaka, Master of Steel.
Disbandment
The Order declared heretical in 489TR by the pontiff and persisted as a cult for some years.

Khamari Heresy
The Order was declared heretical by the Amanasurif (Agrikian pontiff) for preaching the “Khamari heresy.” They believed that the key to finding the 888 Sacred Cairns , which will bring about the final conflict with Larani, involve great sacrifice and self-inflicted pain, the Trials of Mamaka. Orthodox Agrikan theology has long rejected this dogma believing the sacred cairns will be found only when Agrik wills it.
