Holder Callough
Holder Callough is a young Gnome man who, along with his middle-aged mother, recently arrived in Mythrite with the winter caravan.
Holder is about average height and weight for his race, which are short and light respectively. Despite his stature, he is an experienced laborer, currently employed as a farmhand in Gardener's Row. He and his mother barely afford their home in the Halberd, where they pursue a shoddy but honest life with few possessions. His greatest treasure is a knife, sealed in its sheath by rust.
Holder has big dreams of owning an agricultural estate of his own, and hopes to accomplish this without compromising his morals: he believes in hard work and perseverance. He doesn't pass up any extra opportunities to make money, just as long as they aren't criminal in nature. He has a strong aversion to violence and stealing, preferring to resolve conflict peacefully. That's not to say Holder shies away from conflict: he makes an effort to come up with creative solutions, though often finds himself holding the short end of the stick.
Due to a childhood full of sudden moves from town to town, living out of cheap inns and laboring as soon as he was old enough, he doesn't really know how to act around friends. He has a hard time truly opening up about his past.
It is rumored that his and his mother's sudden flight to Mythrite is the result of complicated circumstances surrounding the older woman, local authorities, and the organization known as the Hand of Yartar. When asked about it, his expression sours for a moment before returning to his usual amicable demeanor. Whatever the case, he has little name of his own, though Mythrite offers the opportunity to change that.
When not performing some form of labor, he can often be spotted taking walks, sometimes venturing dangerously close to the town's borders.
He likes fruit, and has a soft spot for strawberries.
