Oryn Carmaya
Oryn Carmaya was born in 1350 in the city of Waterdeep to one of the ruling Lords of Waterdeep. His entire young adult life had been immersed in wealth and the highest company in Waterdeep, being the child of a Lord. Due to this fact, the large amount of wealth he inherited from his family, and the uptight, elusive nature of his species, he chose to look outside of government and elvish culture to make a name for himself.
This led him to become involved in high-end trading deals and wealthy Merchants throughout the land. He traveled to major cities and struck up alliances with other aristocratic members, growing in wealth, power, and reputation. Soon he became one of the prominent leaders of a well-known art organization, responsible for finding high-quality artists and selling their works throughout the lands.
Art intrigued him; it represented beauty and life permanently on canvas, and through artwork, one could track the evolution of society. As a creature with an extraordinarily long lifespan, Oryn became interested in change, modernity, and the short, spontaneous lives of those around him, even if he did not share the same spontaneity.
After a century of building his wealth and reputation for his art trade, he was offered a position in the Lords' Alliance in 1450. He chose to accept the position, interested in the new possibilities it could provide him. His life was long, and there were many connections to be made within the Alliance.
In 1489 when news of a boomtown known as Mythrite cropped up, the Lords’ Alliance grew interested. Mithril veins were hard to come by and it was worth keeping an eye on the new mining town in case any opportunities arose. Oryn agreed to move into the new town along with three other members of the Alliance to oversee its growth and scout out possibilities for the group.
Once there, he became established in a lavish house on Charlamaine Hill. He spent his free time hiring sculptors to create beautiful artwork for his gardens and courtyards out of mithril that he purchased and displayed artwork from the centuries throughout his halls. He quickly became known among hushed whispers for his extravagant display of wealth and art, and many people vied for his eye, hoping for a chance to be invited to dine in the famous house.
Aware of the rumors, Oryn did nothing to quell them. He enjoyed hearing his name whispered through the streets, though he would never act on it. He was a subtle person in nature, showing off his wealth as a front to hide behind. He kept his ties to the Lords Alliance secret, only known by the other three representatives in the town.
Oryn doesn’t make appearances in public places, he doesn’t speak unless he is sure of what he wants to say, and he does not act unless seriously provoked. But mainly he enjoys watching life evolve around him, documenting it in the form of ever-changing artwork that people produce.

History
Carmaya knows of the Sante family, and is interested in why their heir would have come to this town, though he has no active interest in seeking them out. Sante, on the other hand, thinks that Carmaya would be a strong ally to have, and actively seeks his attention (though they might change their tune if he keeps ignoring them for too much longer).
