Pantheon Cemetery

The Pantheon Cemetery is as old as Mythrite itself. Once the only cemetery in town, people of all classes and races were buried here, some in mass graves, others with more elaborate tombs. At some point, the cemetery fell out of use and stopped being cared for, leaving much of the history here at the mercy of the elements.   However, in recent years, some residents of Mythrite have taken an interest in the historical site and have raised awareness as to the importance of the figures buried here and the need for preservation. The cemetery is currently kept by volunteers, which has brightened up the area a bit, but the increased attention has brought tourism and others who are willing to profit off of history in unsavory ways. As a response, the volunteers have placed several signs around the area warning against theft and defacing the graves. It remains to be seen whether or not this is effective.   The increased prestige associated with the graveyard also means that it has become a popular site for the upper class of Mythrite to be buried. Lots go for high prices, and newer graves can range from large tombstones to elaborate mausoleums. As time goes on, the Pantheon Cemetery seems to stray further and further from its roots.
