Northlander warrior in Hofsa on the isle of Llywelyn. He was on guard duty in Hofsa when Tiarjead noticed that his spear was crafted in the style of a Dragonborn dragon-spear, a long spear with a curved claw on the haft used for peeling off scale or pieces of armor to create an opening for piercing weapons. When questioned about the spear, Ivar told Tiarjead about the history of Varkath Flame-Tongue, a dragonborn warrior that won the favor of the Northlander clans on Llywelyn and was given a hero's burial in a cairn hidden on the isle.
Although he thought the claw was decorative, Tiarjead showed Ivar how to use the claw end of the spear in combat, and Ivar immediately began practing with the weapon in its new capacity.
