Llywelyn

Of the larger islands of the Moontides, Llywelyn is the most in flux. The other islands have conflicts but also a firmly entrenched power structure, while Llwelyn sees a great deal of bloodshed with many different groups struggling for power. The Cult of the Claw and the Blood Tribes of Lycanthropes hold sway in the inland areas, spreading destruction and woe to any who try to pass through. Orcish settlements dot the northwestern mountains, while different tribes of giants, ogres, and other dangerous monstrous humanoids roam the mountains to the south.
Along the coast, smaller settlements try to survive with the assistance of the peoples of the other isles. Petty King Coman Morain calls all of Llywelyn as his kingdom, but Blancmill to the north survives by the aid of Jarl Holmgeir of Hrafnel's support, and Westcross routinely requires assistance and defense from Eastcross and Petty Queen Emeldawn Alistair's aid. This has put King Coman in a delicate situation to keep control over his land while Jarl Holmgeir and Queen Emeldawn pressure to claim cities as part of their own domains.
The Cult of the Claw, which operates in the forested inland of Llwelyn, are intelligent lycanthropes who seek to gain control and power of their own. They have formed a ritualistic cult pertaining to their blood and often kidnap victims and wait to infect them during ritual nights. However, their influence and power is stymied by other lycanthropes that run though Llwelyn. The Blood Tribes are packs of lycanthropes which are less organized and more feral in nature that have entered Llywelyn from the Feywild. They are territorial and less discriminatory about their prey and often violent fights between the Blood Tribes and the Cult of the Claw occur, acting as a limit to each group's own strength. Despite the Blood Tribes more feral nature, there are murmurings that there is a unifying force behind them, leading the children to their destructive acts for a particular motive.
