Calsifur Kcrune
"The Good King" Calsifur Loris Kcrune
Calsifur I Kcrune was well loved by his people, and very respected by the noble families of Raventiva. His death sent shockwaves through the Kingdom, and though his son, Georgio I Kcrune, has risen to his fathers title, it has done little to asway the feeling of sadness that still reigns.
Appearance and Character
Calsifur was always smartly dressed, in a similar fashion to his father Aloisio II Kcrune he possesed a great appreciation for clothing. Calsifur's skin was a deep grey, with purple undertones, his horns were of the same tone, though slightly darker. Calsifur kept his hair short, and though for most of his life and reign his hair had been a sleek black, in the last five years of his reign his hair had begun to be flecked with grey. His hair and beard were both well maintained and they were a subject of pride for the King.History
Calsifur was born as a twin, three minutes following the birth of sister, thus making him second born in the eyes of Raventivan law. As such Calsifur was not educated specifically in statecraft for much of his life, and avoided the severe expectations of his father, which were solely focused on his sister. Despite the almost uncanny difference in treatment by their parents, Calsifur and Vera were very close, and came to be just as close to their younger brother Artio, who was born four years after them.- Very good friends with "the peasant lord" claudio d'amore, as well as simona cearvi from youth
- Trained to be good at archery, eventually bested his sister through hard work
- After Vera was almost married off, she swore off her parents and her birthright. She later fled the capital for a period of four and a half months, and was not seen again until returning to the capital with the newborn Luciana Kcrune.
- Taught archery to his niece
- After Vera swore off her birth right Calsifur began to take up the slack and learn statework, he would regularly go to cities, towns, and even small villages across the beak and into other territories of the realm seeking to find what grievances the people had with law
- Taking what he heard in mind he began to intiate law reform across the realm using his authority as Crown Prince to sway court opinion and the minds of the lawkeepers.
- The laws would range from:
- Creating restrictions on what nobles are allowed to do to commoners, creating flexible taxation codes, pushing further in regards to education, and the creation of the "Custodians," experts on Raventivan law codes that he sent to every noble court in the realm.
- Ascended to the throne in 1088 following Aloisio's abdication
- Married Simona Cearvi two years after ascending the throne (though they were promised to eachother for four years before that).
- Codified Custodians and began construction of the High Court.
- Gave Artio the Berruchi blades Beak and Talon when he swore off his name and took on the name of the sword saint (1089, following discovery of Calsifur and Simona's pregnancy)
- Attempted to seek a peaceful conclusion to the Feathered War prior to the actualy outbreak of violence
- Joined in the Validian coalition against the Northern Horde, sent Hessian as his dignitary
- Hessian defeats the Northern Horde with assistance from the armies of Reoyce and Wesier
