Khorinis (City)

The city of Khorinis was first founded in 1341 at a place with a natural harbour on the island of Khorinis. As the importance of the ore mines on the island grew, so did Khorinis. It soon supported a large, but varied population. The city was marked by two features: the large harbour and the Barracks on a natural hill within the walls.
As the population is quite varied, housing sailors, artisans and merchants it is also divided in three districts. The harbour district is ostensibly the poorest, while the middle districht houses the artisans. In the upper district the rich merchants who sell the magic ore live. These are sometimes called Ore barons, because of their far reach in the political system of Khorinis.
Surrounding the city are several farms and a large forest which houses the city lighthouse.
