Order of the Flame

The Order of the Flame was the result of a schism within the Chantry of Fire. It is based on the island of [Khorinis headed by a theocrat called the High Flame. Its military is headed by a Paladin Commander of Innos.

History

After the island of Khorinis(location:c7c5f427-14f6-486d-9e3e-09f79dc81554) was discovered in 1341 by the @[Kingdom of Myrtana, it was soon developed by the Myrtanian Crown and the Chantry of Fire, owing to its rich magic ore supply. Because the Chantry saw the possibilities of the island, they erected a second monastery of Fire there. This was an uprecedented move, but it was believed that the magic ore would provide new magic possibilities for the Mages of Fire. As the economy of the island grew in size and importance, so too did the local priesthood. This caused rifts between the priests of Khorinis and those of Myrtana. This came to a head, when Myrtana descended in civil war in 1401. With central power weakened, the high priest of Khorinis proclaimed himself the High Flame in defiance to the High Flame of Myrtana. He also took over political power over the island.
When the Age of Phantasm came into being and the power of the Aedra and the Daedra over Mundus grew, the Order of Fire used its enormous supply of magic ore to open a portal to the realm of Innos. Innos bestowed upon them them an enormous army, tasked to root out an ancient evil from his brother Beliar. They succeeded and came back strengthened both militarily and religiously.
In fact, the island nation grew so powerful it started to expand over sea. Over the years the Order would take hold of the southern neighboring island of Mirk, gaining control over its volcano. In addition, it launched a war of conquest upon the Zemerian Empire in 1465, invading the lands of Essos while its occupants were embroiled in a war against the Elven Court. The Order managed to conquer Bravos, Mosul, Pentos and Andalos, even laying siege to the metropolis of Valyria, though this proved too much to handle. Now the Order seeks to gain a firm foothold in their conquered territories, though rivalries between Zemeria and the Order continue.
