Westfork
The Westfork is the westernmost peninsula on northern half of the Illyrian continent. To its north it is bordered by the bay of Ran-Aegir, to the south by the Middle Seas, to the west by the Widewater and to the east by the Dauer and Talon mountain range. The name came into use first after the arrival of the Three Brothers in 825. The Westfork supports woods, grasslands, mountainranges and riverdeltas, but is characterized by its intensive cultivation by men. Most lands are being toiled for some plant or another. Most of the Westfork is ruled by a feudal system, although some notable exclusions include the Night's Watch and the Inquisition, which are military orders.
Most of the recent history of the Westfork has been characterized by its division into three kingdoms: the Kingdom of Gotha, the Kingdom of Corinth and the Kingdom of Myrtana. It also was the seat of the Septim empire, the first and only unification of the Westfork. During its history it also endured invasions from Nordic Kingdoms, the Valyrian Empire and the Zemerian Empire.
Religiously the churches of Innos, Adanos and the Dragon Cult are dominant on the peninsula. Recently both the Inquisition and The Night's Watch have expanded their territory beyond the Westfork, pushing the term 'the Westfork' to new limits to perhaps include islands like Dagobar or the Wilds.
