Aphrodite
Cytherea, The Cyprian
Aphrodite is the daughter of Zeus, she is the most beautiful amongst the Gods and sprang to life from the ocean as a woman, never having a childhood. She beguiled all the gods and men she desired.
With her beauty comes. The winds flee before her, flowers grow where her feet touch the earth, the waves of the sea laugh for her and she walks in radiant light. Shortly after she sprang into being a war between the other gods threatened to break out, over who would be the one to have. Hastily Zeus took matters into his own hands and married Aphrodite to Hephaistos. Hephaistos himself was overjoyed by the match and did his best to indulge his beautiful wife. He forged her the most beautiful jewlery and eventhough he was jealous, he did not stop her from indulging in affairs.
The breath of the west bore herOver the sounding sea,Up from the delicate foam,To wave-ringed Cyprus, her isle. And the Hours golden-wreathedWelcome her joyously. They clad her in raiment immortal,And brought her to the gods.Wonder seized them all as they sawViolet crowned Cythera.
